wow, that might be an amazing experience.

  • Beatrice M says:

This is the Lujan Zoo and it’s great. I went there in in 2007 with friends and petted Tigers, Lions and other animals. We all walked away with all of our limbs intact.

  • RANDY says:

Wow, simply, wow. This just goes to show how stupid and uneducated some countries really are, we should go in there and teach them not to do that, there’s kids for gods sake!

  • Patricio says:

Hey, I’m from Argentina and this zoo was on the news a couple of days ago!
I don’t know where it is exactly, not in the capital though… Sounds interesting. The animals were born in captivity and raised by humans, they’ve always been around humans and that’s why the are “domesticated”.

Seems like an accident waiting to happen though, some idiot will pull on the lions whiskers and bye bye idiot!

  • Fran says:

    I´ve been there!
It was definitely one of my best experiences ever!

  • Jordan says:

This is really cool!! I’m sure if you don’t hurt or scare them they are completely harmless. We should be able to do this in the US!!

  • cml2406 says:

    people are fucking stupid

  • rob says:

what a bunch of dumbasses..they are wild animals that should be free in their own environment and if they were to attack they would kill the animal and wonder what went wrong…this is sick and wrong on so many levels the way people are smiling and posing with these poor caged up animals, i hope they do attack back one day to teach these cruel people a lesson..

  • Dan says:

What next? let your kids play with loaded guns or out on the highway after dark? This is stupid. Their parents should to put in jail.

  • zap says:

I guess the lions don’t bite in Argentina….

  • ehutch says:

really cool yet really scary/dangerous. especially with the kids. thats reckless.

  • kengo says:

Human beings are the most dangerous predators on the world. Those other animals in there will most likely be extinct soon.

  • Jamie says:

I am sorry, but the operators of this zoo, as well as the patrons, are CRAZY. Sure, I guess well fed lions and tigers will not attack 99% of the time – but what happens when they reach around and kill the next person petting them. This zoo needs to be closed down.

  • Samara says:

Ai que delicia chegar pertinho deles

  • hmm says:

You know, for some strange reason, I don’t necessarily have a problem with this. IF the animals are properly treated, well fed, and properly socialized, more than likely they won’t cause any problems. It’s still not really SAFE, but people walk into this knowingly. (and if they don’t, then maybe their genes need to be out of the pool anyways ;) )

  • moi says:

that is one plump cheetah XD

  • Jack says:

Wow, this is absolutely incredible! I want to go there.

  • anon says:

Jesus Christ its a lion, get in the car!

  • pepe says:

if humans were put in a zoo they are certainly not going to be this tolerant

    animals always better us

  • Graham Green says:

Oh God, I hope this doesn’t end badly…

  • Addi Longley-Taylor says:

Having worked with animals for years,I am quite shocked that this zoo has such a casual attitude to the public interacting with their predators – and ADULT predators at that!!!!! Putting toddlers in an enclosure with predators, even cubs,is risky at the best of times,as children are seen as prey because of their size,high-pitched voices and sudden movements. I also do not see too many handlers. There should always be a MINIMUM of two handlers in close proximity to the animals and the visitors AT ALL times while the interaction is taking place. This is an accident waiting to happen!!!! And the accident will not be the animal’s fault!!!!!!!!!

  • Natural selection at work.

  • wut says:

Too cool. Wonder if they have to sign a waiver before they are allowed near the animals.

  • Amanda says:

    That’s awesome!

  • funny says:

    great animals, great people.. thx

  • adam says:

holy fucking shit! i lived in argentina till 2 years ago and never heard of this. could you please mail me the name and/or location of the zoo? so when i get back i cna visit it. adamjgk@hotmail.com

  • ULra says:

Goddamn. You people are so conservative it’s not funny. If people want to go to a zoo like that, and someone wants to make a zoo like it, THEN LET THEM. If someone gets hurt, it’s their own fault. Don’t ruin something truly interesting and fun for everyone just because of someone that MIGHT be that stupid. Reading your dumbass, right-wing comments makes me rage so hard.

  • rampage guy says:

You are going to hear about this in the news some day… How a tourist accidentaly got eaten… Then they will close this place down.
Message for “Jack” up above… Is your last name “Ass”, by chance??

  • Liz says:

    This cannot end well.

  • Jason says:

From one dangerous species to the other, I refuse to go near you since one of us dont have claws, speed, or bone crushing power as given by nature. I will go near you with a weapon, just in case if you decide me as your next meal.

  • Juliana says:

Ok. Enough shit is been said here. I’m from Argentina and I went to this zoo a number of times. This is the Luján Zoo. Their animals are better in those cages than out because they would be dead if they were free. (Most of them were rescued from people who have them as pets…) The animals are very well fed, almost domesticated and are not a danger for people. Before u go in a cage, the people who take care of the animals let u know how u should act when in the cage. It is no a danger at all. And I think it’s a beautiful experience to share with your kids if you would never gonna be able to travel to places like Africa to see these animals free…
Maybe we are a third wold country, but that doesn’t mean we are stupid people… At least we didn’t vote for someone like Bush EVER… JA!

  • really? says:

Those animals cannot be completely domesticated. They are WILD and their instincts run deep. While I think this would be an incredible experience, I think better boundaries need to be set before a lawsuit is born.

  • Miranda says:

I find it funny and sad that people don’t realize – domesticating cats and dogs is the same as domesticating these big cats, but you have no problem with that now, do you.

  • aaron says:

has anyone ever been swiped at or bitten by a house cat? even a cat that knows you as its best friend will occasionally strike out of fear, confusion, anger, or even play. now let’s take that same cat and increase its size exponentially. even if these animals are exactly as tame as house cats–which i doubt–there is a good possibility that someone will get hurt. will a tiger who’s been fed all his life bite off a man’s head because its stomach is growling? probably not. but who’s to say it won’t knock a kid’s head into a rock, or bite through a man’s neck (see the case of Roy Horn of Siegfried and Roy) because it just doesn’t know its own strength?

  • Borellus says:

That’s a rather scary zoo. I wouldn’t like to get that close to those animals.

  • Stu says:

@Randy “we should go in there and teach them not to do that”.

Don’t American’s ever learn?? Sort out your own country before you travel the globe “educating” everyone that “your way” is “the right way”. Just who the hell do you yanks think you are??? Team America: World Police. how true!

  • Stu says:

p.s. I don’t particularly agree with the caging of animals in any zoo-type environment, particularly the likes of lions and tigers, however, if the visitors to this zoo are spending money and that money goes to animal welfare, like it so often does in European zoos, good luck to them, and keep an eye on your limbs.

  • bluedongle says:

Well, if they are raised there since cubs, they would prolly be fine to be around…I would guess they only let people around the milder ones.

I do find it really stupid of parents to let children in there. Even a friendly animal can hurt you on accident. If a lion or tiger decided to playfully swat you like a house cat does…an adult might be ok, but a little kid? And cubs might be smaller, but I imagine they are also less carefull about biting when they play. Cub is still the size of a little kid.

  • a says:

the zoo is located in lujan, west of the capital city. not only are the animals domesticated, they are doped, so there’s not really a danger. when i went there kids under a certain height were not allowed to enter the cages, i don’t know if they found something more potent to keep the animals down.

  • None says:

Sigfried and Roy might have some good advise for this zoo.

  • anti says:

and we have the audacity to call ouselves civilised – how, with everything go ing on in the world can people on this board actually think this is something to be celebrated. To all those who are seeking to visit to purposely do this – you should be ashamed. I do hope you are not the 1 in 1000 that will undoubtably cause all this to end – you will be ridiculed – see the Grizly man, Siegfried and Roy. (Americans have such a bad attitude towards animals – we all have the same rights)

  • Ale says:

RANDY, i hope you’re being sarcastic

  • jenny says:

lions and tigers and bears oh my!!

wow that must be really awesome *adds Argentina to list of places to visit*

  • Andrew says:

“Wow, simply, wow. This just goes to show how stupid and uneducated some countries really are, we should go in there and teach them not to do that, there’s kids for gods sake!”

Hell yeah. We should bomb the shit out of them. Fucking Heathens.

  • Will says:

Holy shit that’s Joel Pryzbilla with the beard and glasses with the tiger!!

  • suizou says:

    Catnip Kitty Cakes.

  • andrew says:

That is incredible! I want to visit that place for sure!
And its funny how so many people think that the people of Argentina are retarded for doing this but I am sure any human being should know the risk involved when entering such a place, and if they are that confident that the animals will not cause harm to others that there is nothing wrong with that.

  • Itrynottojudge says:

People are more dangerous than wild animals. Yesterday Bush looked like a pussy cat and tomorrow we will think the same of Obama and then realise we are all the animals.

  • Rhea says:

    Completely nuts!!

  • Raf says:

sign the Death Waver to enter
